Torque figures:   at          2000 U/min  ca. 200 Nm

                                           2200 U/min  ca. 225 Nm

                                           2400 U/min  ca. 235 Nm

                                           3800 U/min  ca. 225 Nm

Power output without intercooler:          66 KW at 4000 U/min

                                                                           170 Nm at 2300 U/min


We used a TDI-engine (1Z/AHU/AFN) with a new turbo charger of a van engine (JX).

This means that the installation of a TDI-engine with mechanical injection pump is quite simple. Time needed for the whole conversion: approx.  2 - 5 days.

A lot of VW-van drivers/owners have yet not been convinced by the concept of installing a 1.9 TDI-engine.

The reason: the electronics


Often, I get asked: What am I going to do if I am abroad and something goes wrong with the electronics ?

Even worse would be an problem with the electronics that, for instance, stopped you  from continuing you journey through a desert or even forced you to abandon your whole van.


Since spring 2003 my own VW-van is driven by a mechanical TDI (engine).

Power output: about 130 hp-DIN, torque about 280 Nm.
